In the southwest of Bolivia, at a high of over 3.600 meters and area of
over 12.000 square km, is where the only shiny point that can be seen
from the space is located: The unique Salar de Uyuni.
Salar de Uyuni, the biggest salt desert in the world, is in the first place
of the new twenty-five wonders and natural historical attractions in the world.
Because of the magnetism, all the outside communication is nonexistent and the guests come across an almost desert landscape with geysers, rocky formations and extinct volcanoes.
Near the border with Chile, this endless salt place has 3 mirrors: the red, green and blue lakes. These names are given because of the color of the water’s shade that occurs in accordance with the chemical elements that dominates the zone.
One of them is located in the extreme border with Chile, in the Andes.
There is also a different landscape. However the most special one is formed when the sky is cloudy. At this mirror, the clouds reflect themselves so that the horizon line is almost nonexistent, which causes an impossible distinction from land to sky. This effect is called “Whitheout”.
